Photos show emergency personnel swarming a roadway in Sussex after a pedestrian was struck by a car.
The deadly accident occurred on the A270 Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, around 8.17 p.m. on Friday.
The pedestrian, a 44-year-old local man, was pronounced dead on the spot after colliding with a Vauxhall Corsa.
Pictures from the scene show a large number of medical staff, as well as collision investigators.
Sussex Police verified that the driver of the vehicle was unharmed. Following the incident, a portion of road was stopped in both directions for many hours.
“A section of the road was closed in both directions for several hours following the collision, and we thank the public for their patience and understanding.”
