Police still appealing for witnesses following a terrifying fatal crash that killed Stockport driver

A silver Peugeot 208 and a blue Mercedes A Class collided on the A523 Poynton Relief Road in Adlington, Cheshire, at 7.45am last wednesday (August 7). Tragically, the driver of the Peugeot died on the scene. Their next of kin have been notified and are receiving support.

The Mercedes driver, a 35-year-old woman, was detained on suspicion of causing death through unsafe driving. She has been brought into police custody and will be questioned by detectives.

Cheshire Police wish to talk with any witnesses to the crash or anyone who has dashcam footage. Sergeant Russell Sime stated: “Enquiries are still underway, and we are looking to speak with anyone who witnessed what occurred.

“The same goes for anyone who may have dashcam evidence that could assist our inquiry. You can report information to us at cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or phone 101, quoting IML-1889097.
