WATERBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Police have released the names of the victims in a Waterbury shooting that left one man dead and the other critically injured.
Vermont State Police say Shawn Spiker, 34, of Croydon, New Hampshire, was killed in the shooting early Monday morning at the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park. They say he died of multiple gunshot wounds and it was a homicide.
Troopers identified the man who survived as Michael Perry, 57, of Waterbury, who they say is in stable condition at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington.
Investigators say they finished processing the crime scene on Tuesday and are still interviewing people.
No one is in custody.
Troopers said Monday there were others involved in the incident, and it was not a dispute between Spiker and Perry. They say the men were acquaintances.
“What we know about the investigation leads us to believe this is an isolated incident, it is not a random incident at a trailer park,” Vt. State Police Maj. Dan Trudeau said on Monday.
