A murder inquiry has been opened after a woman’s body was discovered at a home in Greater Manchester.
Police were called to Moss Lane in Swinton, Salford, at 23:15 GMT after reports of a lady being stabbed.
Officers suspect the woman is in her forties. A postmortem examination was scheduled for Thursday.
A 47-year-old guy was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police believe it was a “isolated” event.
A police cordon was placed around the premises while forensic investigations were carried out.
Insp Jamie Daniels of Greater Manchester Police said: “We have a dedicated team working to piece together the circumstances in which a woman tragically died, and our thoughts are with her family at this unimaginably difficult time.”
