A file for the coroner has been completed, and the woman’s next of kin have been notified.
According to police, the body found at Newent Lake is being investigated as inexplicable.
On Thursday about 12:55 p.m., there were reports that a woman’s body had been discovered, therefore police were dispatched to the scene.
Gloucestershire police released a statement this morning.
“On Thursday, just after 1:55 p.m., police were dispatched to Newent Lake in response to reports of a woman’s body.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious at this time and woman’s next of kin have been informed.
“A file has also been prepared for the coroner
People have left messages of sympathy for the woman and her friends and family on social media.
It is understood that the woman had not been reported missing.
Police are not seeking more information from the public at this time.
