College Road in Margate was closed yesterday afternoon following a collision that wounded two persons, one of whom was flown to a London hospital.
Following the collision between a motorbike and a car, A254 Ramsgate Road and A255 St Peter’s Road were closed in both directions.
Police and paramedics were in attendance.
A representative for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “SECAmb were alerted at approximately 2:50pm to reports of an accident between a car and a motorbike on College Road in Margate.
“Crews examined and treated two persons on the site before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity of Kent, Surrey, and Sussex, which transported one patient to Kings College Hospital for additional medical treatment. The second patient was discharged on the scene.”
A Kent Police spokeswoman added: “At 2.55pm, Kent Police received a complaint of a collision involving a motorbike and a car on College Road in Margate.
“Officers responded, together with the South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the motorcyclist was transported to the hospital for treatment.
“Officers are working to reopen the road following an earlier closure while the incident was responded to.”
