A woman died following a huge rescue reaction along a precipice.
According to police, a woman in her 70s died near cliffs in Peacehaven yesterday afternoon due to a welfare issue.
Officers were joined by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard on the undercliff path at around 2.45pm, however she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and police confirmed there were “no suspicious circumstances.”
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to the cliffs at Peacehaven at around 2.45pm on Monday, September 9, due to concerns for the welfare of a woman.”
“A woman in her 70s was tragically confirmed dead on the spot. Her next of kin have been notified.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
