The woman was rushed to hospital following the crash on Rawdon Road
A woman has died in a car crash in Horsforth.
West Yorkshire Police, along with paramedics, raced to Rawdon Road in Horsforth, near to the junction with Hall Lane at 1.59pm on Thursday,. The crash involved a blue Ford Fiesta and a red Audi S3.
The driver of the Fiesta, an 82-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment and is in critical condition. She was pronounced dead last evening.
Prior to the collision, the Fiesta was going away from Rawdon towards the A6120, while the Audi was travelling in the opposite direction. The authorities believe the Fiesta driver experienced a medical crisis while driving. The Audi driver had minor injuries.
West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are still looking for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Leeds.” At 1.59pm yesterday, emergency services were dispatched to a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a red Audi S3 on Rawdon Road in Horsforth, near the intersection with Hall Lane.
“The driver of the Fiesta, an 82-year-old woman, was brought to the hospital for emergency care but was pronounced dead yesterday evening.
“The Fiesta was travelling away from Rawdon towards the A6120, while the Audi was going in the opposite direction. The Fiesta driver appeared to have had a medical emergency, according to preliminary reports. “The Audi driver sustained minor injuries.”
