Wiltshire Police officers were called out to the scene earlier today and remain at the scene while enquiries continue with a 25-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder
After a guy in Salisbury was fatally stabbed, a murder inquiry was started. A second man has been taken into custody in relation to the Gainsborough Close incident, suspected of murder.
According to Wiltshire Police, they were called to complaints of a man being stabbed. When emergency personnel arrived, a guy in his 20s was pronounced deceased at the site and his next of kin was notified.
A 25-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of murder, according to the force. He is still being questioned by police.
While police investigate, a police cordon is anticipated to be in place on Gainsborough Close through the night. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker of the Major Crime Investigation Team stated: “A young man has tragically lost his life in this awful incident.”
“Officers acted fast, and we were able to apprehend a suspect on suspicion of murder quite quickly because of important witnesses and information provided by the public.
“At present, he is still in custody. We don’t think there is a larger risk to the public because we think the victim in this case knows the suspect.
“We are still investigating things, and until we do so, the area will see a rise in police presence. If you have any dash cam footage from the scene or are a witness to the event, please contact us at 101 and mention crime reference number 115 of today.
