In the course of looking into a Bradford home fire that claimed the lives of a mother and three children, police have detained four more persons.
On Wednesday, Bryonie Gawith, 29, was discovered dead at the site on Westbury Road. Her three children, Aubree Birtle, 22, months, Denisty Birtle, 9, and Oscar Birtle, 5, also passed away later in the hospital.
The house was “deliberately set ablaze,” according to West Yorkshire police, in the wee hours.
In the wee hours of Monday morning, a 25-year-old male was taken into custody in the Keighley neighbourhood of the city on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to West Yorkshire police.
A 44-year-old male was detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder soon after 10 a.m. on Monday after showing up at a police station. A 54-year-old lady and a 42-year-old man were both taken into custody at the same address on suspicion of aiding an offender.
Additionally, according to the police, a 39-year-old guy who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday is still in critical condition in the hospital, and a 36-year-old male who was seized on Friday is still being held.
A 45-year-old guy who was also detained on Friday has been excluded from the probe and freed without any further action.
While detectives carry out their investigation, police have established cordons around the area.
Bryonie, also known as B, was referred to as the “life and soul of the party” in an earlier statement.
According to the statement, “music was a big part of her life; she loved singing and dancing.” “B was a perpetually cheerful, exuberant, and stunning woman who loved and cared for everyone. Her children were her entire world.
“I am absolutely distraught at the sudden loss of my fiancée, Bryonie, and our three beautiful children,” said Jonathan, the children’s father, in a statement. I spent a lot of time with Bryonie, and we had a happy life together.
