Man killed and another fighting for life after a terrifying collision in Kingswinford

Following a road traffic collision in Kingswinford, one man died and another was injured.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said crews arrived to find a single overturned vehicle.

“A man from the first vehicle managed to get out of the automobile and was discovered to be in cardiac arrest. The individual at the scene was subjected to full resuscitation attempts. Crews continued to offer emergency medical care while en route to Russells Hall Hospital. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of emergency staff and hospital medics, nothing could save the guy, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

This was the second major event in Kingswinford in 24 hours. At 4.40pm, a driver received neck and head injuries when his car toppled at the A449 and Lawnswood junction.

According to a spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, the driver, a man in his fifties, was locked in the vehicle when personnel arrived.


Paramedics and firefighters rescued him before placing him in a neck brace and transporting him on a stretcher. He was transported by land ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital for additional examination and treatment.

“The driver of the second automobile, a man in his 70s, received treatment at the scene for a knee injury. The individual was also sent to Russells Hall Hospital for further examination and treatment.
