Police were alerted to a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Mount Road area of Birtley
- Following concerns of concern for someone’s wellbeing, police were called to a Birtley residence where they discovered the body of a man.
On Sunday at around 10.40 a.m., Northumbria Police were called to the Mount Road area. When police arrived on the location, they discovered a man’s dead inside; his next of kin had been informed. - The death is being investigated by police, and its cause is now being considered “unexplained.”
“We were alerted by the ambulance service to a report of concern for the welfare of a man inside an address in the Mount Road area of Birtley, Gateshead,” a Northumbria Police spokeswoman stated. The incident was received at approximately 10.40am on Sunday. - “A man’s body was discovered inside the address when officers arrived on the scene, and his next of kin have been notified.” Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which they consider to be unexplained.
