Man found dead in Bristol city centre

Near the city’s Crown Court, in Bell Lane, an alleyway, the man was discovered in a terrible condition.

The Avon Coroner has received information from the investigating officers regarding the man’s death in Bristol city centre on Friday, and they state that the death is not suspicious. Early on Friday morning, June 21, police were summoned to assist paramedics who were fighting in vain to save the man’s life near Bristol Crown Court in Small Street.

Emergency services were contacted at around 5.30 am after discovering the man prostrate and in critical condition. The man was found to be unconscious by paramedics at 5.40 am; regrettably, he passed away at the site. Paramedics called the police.

On Friday morning, Bristol Live stated that the man’s death was ‘unexplained’ at the time and that police were looking into the circumstances surrounding it. On Friday morning, authorities set up a police cordon around Small Street and asked for any information regarding the man’s whereabouts.

According to police, their preliminary inquiry revealed that the man’s death was not suspicious, and as a result, a file will be prepared for the Avon Coroner, who will hold an inquest rather than pursuing a criminal probe.

According to an Avon and Somerset police spokesperson, the police are currently attempting to locate the man’s relatives, who are located overseas. “The death of a man in Bristol this morning, Friday, June 21, is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner,” a spokeswoman said.



Early in the morning, someone in Bell Lane, off of Small Street, discovered the man in terrible condition. At around 5.40 am, officers were summoned to assist the paramedics treating him; tragically, he passed away at the spot. In order to notify them and set up official identification, the man’s family is currently being contacted by police while they are overseas, she continued.
