Police cautioned that the route could be closed for some time.
Two automobiles collided near Prescot, closing a crucial road and diverting buses.
The incident occurred just after 2.30pm on Warrington Road, near Pennington Gardens, involving a Ford Fiesta and a Volkswagen Golf. Merseyside Police reported that the male driver of the Ford sustained a significant leg injury and was brought to the hospital.
As of 4 p.m. yesterday, a part of the road remained closed in both directions, with police warning that the closure could last “for some time” as they collect the damaged vehicles.
Arriva North West informed customers on Twitter that its Prescot route 10A will detour via Kemble Street and Prescot Bus Station, avoiding a part of Warrington Road owing to a “police incident at Pennington Gardens.” Prescot routes 61 and 69 will also reroute via Kemble Street, skipping Warrington Road and Prescot Bus Station.
