A man is thought to have had a “medical episode” after a van collided on a major route. At around 10.05pm on Wednesday, July 24, emergency services were called to the junction of the St Helens Linkway, now known as the James Roby Way.

It came after a report that a van had mounted the grass verge at the intersection of the St Helens Linkway and Sherdley Road. Police suspect the van’s driver, a guy, had a medical crisis.
