Following a collision, the M56 is partially closed. A collision between J11 A56 Chester Road (Preston Brook) and J12 A557 (Runcorn) has caused delays and the closure of the M56 westbound.

J14 (Helsby) is also experiencing congestion. The event is believed to have started at 5:45 a.m. on Monday, September 23. Ambulance, police, and firefighters are all present at the location.
Prior to this, all lanes were blocked as emergency personnel handled the situation.
But since then, one lane has reopened. “Severe delays” are still present. According to National Highways, there are seven miles of traffic jams and nearly sixty-minute approach delays.
