Intense search for missing woman after flash flooding hits city high street

Roads and the city’s main thoroughfare were closed due to flash flooding brought on by heavy downpours.

Following the flooding at around 19:45 BST, Hampshire County Council advised residents to stay away from certain areas of Winchester.
The authority reported that Easton Lane was closed for nearly two hours, and South Western Railway reported that this had an impact on services between Eastleigh and Winchester.

Witness Jez Hollinshead reported that the flooding appeared to be “biblical.”

The search for 27 year old Lucy Adams still continues after the flood; her body has not been found any information leading to where she might be or where she was before the flood should be reported to the police
