Work on high-speed railroads is still going on throughout the area.
Drivers in Warwickshire are being alerted of the closure of a major road from Coventry. At the end of the month, the A429 connecting Coventry and Kenilworth is scheduled to close.
Major road closures occur while HS2 construction is ongoing in the region. The road section ahead of the scheduled shutdown must undergo additional drainage and utility studies, inspections, and verge repair, according to the bosses.
In order to do the survey work safely, this work is being done in phases. As of today, September 16, stop and go boards are being used during off-peak hours. This will take place every day from Monday through Friday, September 27 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.
The A429 Kenilworth Road will then be completely closed to traffic from Monday, September 30 to Friday, October 25. There will be activities throughout the four-week closure.
HS2 managers have stated, “We will be undertaking further surveys and verge maintenance.” There will be another closure for the third phase of the project.
But this isn’t expected to happen until early in 2025. Road managers continued, “To complete the permanent road realignment, we will install another full road closure. Details will be shared early next year.
On Tuesday, September 24, there will be a community drop-in event in Kenilworth where residents may learn more about the A429 and the upcoming A46 construction. It takes place in the Kenilworth Center from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
