There are flood warnings and alerts in effect.
As we prepare for further rain, portions of Coventry and Warwickshire have been placed on a flood warning or alert. The Met Office issues a warning in addition to the one from the Environment Agency.
An amber warning is in effect for today due to heavy rain. It is in effect until 9 p.m. tonight and went into effect at 5 a.m. There’s a chance of flooding with that warning.
According to the Environment Agency, flooding is predicted in certain sections of North Warwickshire, and alerts have been issued for other regions in our region. Over the past 24 hours, reports of localized road flooding have been received.
It follows a wake-up call to residents in the wee hours of yesterday morning (September 22) due to intense rain, thunder, and lightning. Yesterday afternoon and evening, our area was repeatedly pounded by this intense downpour.
This is expected to persist throughout the day, with 95% of the forecast from the Met Office indicating rain in some areas. The roads in our area will be impacted by this.
