Farnborough Hill pupil dies in tragic accident.

“The Lord declares, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25–26)

We beseech you to accompany us in prayer as we mourn the untimely death of our dear and gifted friend and Old Girl, Lucy Pygott.

For Lucy’s parents, relatives, and friends, we pray. We give Lucy up to God’s loving arms. May she see Him clearly now.

The head of Farnborough Hill, Mrs. Neil, has expressed how stunned and heartbroken everyone is at the school over Lucy Pygott’s untimely death. Pygott was a student there until July. A week ago, Lucy, who turned seventeen, was murdered in an Aldershot car accident while out for a run with the Aldershot, Farnham, and District Athletic Club (AFD).

Lucy had a very bright future ahead of her. She was an extremely gifted runner who placed second in the April London Mini Marathon. She also earned 8A* and 2As at GCSE. “Lucy was a very well-liked and gifted member of the larger school community and has many friends who are still at Farnborough Hill,” stated Mrs. Neil. Even though we are a small but supportive group, we are all having difficulty accepting what has transpired. Her family is in our hearts and prayers.

The pastoral head of Year 11, Mr. Peter Forrest-Biggs, offered her tribute, saying, “Lucy brought her wonderful smile and friendship to everyone she encountered.” She was a really gifted athlete who was also quite humble about her skill; she succeeded in all she set her mind to. The entire school community will sincerely mourn Lucy, who was an inherently kind and compassionate young woman.

“The brightness of her hair equalled the brightness of her smile and the energy with which she approached every aspect of school life,” remarked Miss Dee Andrews, her Year 11 Form Tutor. Without her, the world is a poorer and empty place.
