A drug driver caused significant casualties when he swerved and crashed with another vehicle in Chichester.
Charlie Bedworth, 37, failed to notice a vehicle ahead of him indicating a right turn off the Selsey Road B2145 near Hunston.
He attempted to avoid a collision, but instead drove into the path of an incoming vehicle.
Bedworth tested positive for cocaine on the side of the road using a DrugWipe.
The victim, a 53-year-old Selsey man, was evacuated to the hospital with serious injuries.
He continues to require therapy and rehabilitation for his injuries after the accident.
Drug driving and driving while distracted are two of the leading causes of fatalities and serious injuries on our roads.
