A MAN lost his life in an A737 collision close to Beith.
At approximately 10.45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, according to police, the 46-year-old pedestrian was engaged in an accident with a black Land Rover Discovery Sport.
At the scene, the man—who has not yet been identified—was declared deceased.
For around six hours, the road was stopped to enable for the completion of collision investigations.
The Ayrshire Road Policing Unit of Police Scotland’s Sergeant Chris McColm stated: “Our investigations are still ongoing to determine the complete circumstances, and our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.”
“Anyone who witnessed what happened and was in the area is urged to get in touch with us as your information may be crucial.
Additionally, I would urge anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that might be able to assist with our inquiry to get in contact.
