A 25-year-old man was killed in an early-morning collision on Shetland’s A970 near Sandwick.
At 1 a.m., police, fire, and ambulances hurried to the scene of the incident on Shetland’s main north-south highway between Lerwick and Sumburgh.
The male driver of a Toyota Hi Lux pickup truck was pronounced deceased on the spot.
Police are now appealing for information.
The A970 was closed south of the Hoswick Junction for more than 18 hours with no local diversions possible.
