Police said they discovered the corpse of a man on the side of a busy Doncaster road after blocking it in both directions earlier this afternoon.
This lunchtime, emergency services were summoned to the A630 West Moor Link Road near the M18 motorway in Armthorpe, where the road had been sealed off.
Police have now verified that the body of a male was discovered on the scene.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said in a brief statement that “this was a concern for safety incident – officers attended and sadly a 57-year-old man was found deceased.”
According to the spokeswoman, no other information about the incident or the man’s death will be disclosed.
The A630 was closed in both directions between the roundabout at junction 4 of the M18 near the Next building and the Yorkshire Way roundabout.
People were advised to avoid areas where diversions were in place.
