A major Ayr route was closed for over seven hours due to a three-vehicle incident.
Police Scotland said that the A77 was closed following the collision at the Bankfield roundabout, near University Hospital Ayr.
Emergency personnel hurried to the scene of the collision, which occurred at approximately 4.40pm on Wednesday,
The route was closed between the Holmston and Bankfield roundabouts, with traffic diverted via Holmston route, Castlehill Road, and Dalmellington Road in both directions.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcams in that area.
Traffic Scotland advised that the road may eventually reopened midnight.
