Police are seeking information following a deadly traffic incident in Shetland early Friday morning.
Around 1 a.m., emergency services were alerted to an accident involving a Toyota Hi Lux pick-up on the A970 near Sandwick, where the 25-year-old male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The A970 remains closed south of the Hoswick Junction, with no local detour options.
Inspector Donnie MacKinnon of Road Policing said: “Enquiries are still ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding this incident, and our thoughts and condolences go out to the man’s family and friends.”
“We would like to ask any motorists who were on the A970 at the time of the collision, particularly any who had dash-cam footage, to contact us if they have any information that could help our investigation.
“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, mentioning incident number 0155 from Friday.
