A woman died in an “unexplained” manner, and a man has been taken into custody on murderous suspicions.
Just before 14:50 GMT on Thursday, Thames Valley Police were called to a property in Spenlove Close, Abingdon.
A 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
A 50-year-old man is being held by police after being taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
Supt. Lewis Prescott-Mayling stated: “We would like to reiterate that the woman’s death is being treated as unexplained, even though a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder at this time.
“While our investigation is ongoing, I would urge people not to speculate as to the circumstances, although I understand that this may cause concern in the local community.”We are certain that the general public is not at risk, and we have no further search ongoing in relation to this incident.”
