On Tuesday, September 24, there were delays on the A299 Thanet Way as a result of a tractor crash. Just before 11 a.m., emergency services were summoned to the incident on the coastbound carriageway near the St Nicholas at Wade junction, near the A28 Canterbury Road.

As a result, one lane was blocked, causing sluggish traffic on the approach. Kent County Council’s Highways department urged road users at the time to “expect delays on the approach and allow extra time for your journey.”

Traffic cameras at the incident showed that the tractor had come to a stop in the right lane. There was significant congestion in the first lane leading to the roundabout.

One man sustained injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. A spokesperson for Kent Police stated, “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a motorbike and a car at 10.51am on Tuesday, 24 September.”

“Officers responded to the scene on the coastbound A299 near St Nicholas at Wade. A man was sent to a local hospital with injuries that were not thought to be serious.”
