A Delaware motorbike crash claimed the life of a Berks man, police appealing for witnesses

DE’S NEW CASTLE COUNTY: The weekend motorcycle collision near I-95 in New Castle County claimed the life of a guy from Berks County, according to confirmation from Delaware State Police.

The motorbike crash that claimed the life of Douglasville resident Taylor Guyer, 26, happened early on September 22.

Guyer was riding a Honda CBR 1000RR motorbike south on I-95 at Basin Road just after 8:30 a.m.

Guyer, according to the police, was initially lagging behind a group of other motorcycle riders but quickly caught up and overtook them.

Investigators claim that when the motorcycle passed the group, its back tire locked up and it skidded.

The motorcycle toppled over onto its right side and skidded towards the road’s right shoulder.

Guyer was catapulted from the motorcycle and was declared dead at the scene. According to the police, Guyer was wearing a helmet.

Five hours or more were spent closing the road while police removed the wreckage and looked into the collision.
