Georgie Kelly has returned to Carlisle United’s training ground, while Dylan McGeouch is also nearing a return.
The two appear to be the next Blues players to return to action after lengthy absences.
Striker Kelly is recovering from a calf ailment that has hampered his injury-plagued tenure at Brunton Park thus far.
Midfielder McGeouch is also recovering from a calf injury he sustained last month.
However, winger Jordan Jones’ recovery from his own calf injury appears to be taking slightly longer than Kelly and McGeouch’s.
“Dylan and Georgie trained on Monday,” said Williamson. “It wasn’t too heavy a session but they’ll hopefully [continue now].
“Jordan is another week or ten days behind them, so he hasn’t integrated back in yet.
“But, fingers crossed, it all goes smoothly and we’ve got three really good players coming back in.”
Kelly has been sidelined since the August 24 defeat to MK Dons, when he pulled up injured after coming off the bench and was forced to sit out.
The January signing from Rotherham United has made only ten appearances in his first ten months at Brunton Park.
The Blues hope that his return in the coming weeks will start an injury-free run for the 28-year-old. Carlisle need all the offensive reinforcements they can get during the season-long absence of ankle injury sufferer. Charlie Wyke
McGeouch, on the other hand, has had a hit-and-miss season but is on the verge of returning.
“I think Georgie’s going to need a bit more build-up, while Dylan has just had a baby as well, so obviously his training load’s been a little bit varied,” Williamson said.
“We just need to make sure we do it correctly. We have a superb physio department and S&C [strength and conditioning] department, so they will give us the go-ahead when they are available for selection.”
Williamson is already missing suspended midfielders Harrison Neal and Ethan Robson for Saturday’s trip to Bromley, with Robson having a fresh hamstring issue examined.
Defender Terell Thomas will also miss the game due to international commitments with Saint Lucia.
However, a boost came on Tuesday as left-sided defender Ben Williams returned to duty after missing two months with a calf injury.
When asked if Williams would now enter the league right away, Williamson responded, “In terms of his quality, sure. But, obviously, he’s been injured for a while, and it’s the same with Kadeem [Harris]: we don’t want to overreact and get carried away by what we’ve seen.
“It’s a great benefit with a lot of things to take away. But we just need to make sure he heals and everything is fine, and then we can build on that performance.”
Harris, a recent signing, had a promising first half showing at Morecambe on his entire debut.
Williamson said of the former Sheffield Wednesday player, “I thought he demonstrated quality when the ball came into him.” He held it up beautifully. His judgements to run behind were sound.
“But the pleasing part is that he spent 45 minutes inside his legs. It was always planned for him to come off [at half-time]. Hopefully, he dusts himself off and is accessible.
