A 14-year-old kid was discovered dead in a forested area near Sidcup after going missing from Bexley.
On Thursday, at 10.51 a.m., police responded to Dene Avenue after a male was discovered unresponsive in a wooded area.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
He has been legally recognised as Jamie Daniel, who was reported missing in Bexley.
Officers urge that his family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.
His death is still being considered as unexplained, while police investigations continue.
A report will be submitted for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called to Dene Avenue, Sidcup, at 10.51am on Thursday, after a male was discovered unresponsive in a wooded area.”
“The officers responded. The individual was pronounced dead on the scene.
“The male has been formally identified as 14-year-old Jamie Daniel, who was reported missing in Bexley.
“We ask that his family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.
“The death is presently being considered as unexplained, while investigations continue.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
