A terrifying hit-and-run accident that left a Brisbane nurse bruised and $700 out of pocket was captured on dashcam video.
Yesterday, Maretta Vincart, 41, was traveling on the Gateway Motorway in Murarrie in her Mazda 3 when a Holden Commodore struck the back of her car.
As onlookers hurried to Vincart’s aid, the impact sent her automobile spinning out of control.
The close call, including the Commodore’s departure, was seen by Vincart’s dashcam.
“I don’t remember screaming at all, but it is like what everyone says, it goes in slow motion,” Vincart stated to 9News.
“I did feel the car go to tip but it didn’t so I was extremely lucky.
As seen Before colliding with Vincart, Laura Ellis claimed that the Commodore was “flying past” and almost totaled another vehicle.
“It’s pretty confronting, watching her car kind of spin out,” she stated.
“They obviously have no care for anyone.”
According to Vincart, her automobile was written off.
To make matters worse, Vincart’s insurance company charges an excess of $700 for not having the other driver’s information.
“It’s frustrating because it was a normal day working,” she stated.
“Abiding by the road rules, and someone decides to not do that and be reckless … I could have lost my life.”
While conducting their investigation, police are searching for a blue Holden Commodore with the Queensland license plate 483KG5.
