The pedestrian tragically died in hospital.
A man has tragically died after being hit by a lorry on a busy route near the Essex border. Police were called at 5.30 a.m today after reports of a pedestrian-lorry collision on Goodmayes Road in Ilford.
Officers, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Air Ambulance all responded to the site. The pedestrian, a 45-year-old man, was carried to the hospital, where he unfortunately perished.
The pedestrian’s next of kin has been notified. There have been no arrests, and the lorry driver has stopped at the scene.
The road was closed for many hours while an accident investigation was conducted. Police are presently investigating the incident.
Police are now seeking to anyone with information to come forward. According to a police spokesperson, an investigation is currently underway following a deadly collision in Redbridge.
