On Sunday, January 7, 2024, in Dakar, Sadio Mane, the star of Al-Nassr, reportedly tied the knot with his partner, Aisha Tamba, in a romantic ceremony.
It was reported that friends, family, former players, and even current Senegal national team players attended the wedding.
The former Liverpool player went back home to be with his teammates as the African champions began their pre-AFCON 2023 training camp.
Prior to departing for the Ivory Coast, the 31-year-old married earlier this month and dedicated a stadium he constructed in his hometown of Bambali.
In pictures circulated on social media, Tamba appeared wearing a vibrant bridal gown and grinning broadly on her special day. Mane was dressed in a classic white Arabian attire.
Mane will then go to Niger with his colleagues for Senegal’s pre-AFCON friendly before the team departs for Ivory Coast to start their championship defence.
Mané was a star for Senegal in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, as they won the tournament for the first time. Mané faced his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah in the final match against Egypt. In the seventh minute of the match, Mané’s penalty was saved, but he went on to score the winning kick in the penalty shootout.
Mané was voted the tournament’s player of the year in addition to having three goals and two assists before the final and scoring the game-winning kick to win the trophy. He also scored the game-winning penalty kick in the penalty shootout against Egypt in the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, which ended in a 1-1 draw overall.
