A teenager was the victim of an attempted robbery when five men approached him in Gillingham, police said. Now investigators are appealing for information following the report.

The child was allegedly stopped from fleeing by the males, who also asked that he give up his phone, purse, and shoes. Then, it is said that before the suspects fled the scene, they grabbed a phone from one of the victim’s companions.
One of the males is defined as being black, roughly six feet tall, with short black hair, and between the ages of 19 and 20. He had on dark grey shorts and a grey top. An other male is depicted as white, with lengthy black hair, and donning a light grey, zip-up shirt.
PC Andrew Kendall-Weaver, the investigating officer, stated: “We have been looking into this event, including looking through area CCTV. It is acknowledged that there were bystanders in the vicinity who might have witnessed what transpired. Please have them get in touch with our appeal line.

“Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.”
