Celtic focus on £3 million player who makes a better addition than Idah.

In an attempt to win the Scottish Premiership for a record-breaking fourth time in a row, Celtic takes on Kilmarnock at Parkhead on Sunday.

After his team was eliminated from the League Cup in August of last year and placed last in their Champions League group, Brendan Rodgers might also be looking for greater success in all competitions.

The Hornets have an opportunity to strengthen the team and make sure it is prepared to contend on all fronts next season thanks to the summer transfer window.

But as of right now, the Bhoys haven’t really changed much about the group. In an attempt to replace Joe Hart, the Premiership champions have only signed two goalkeepers, Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

Following his loan stint at Paradise last season, the Hoops have been linked to a move to reclaim Ireland international Adam Idah from Norwich City.

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, the striker wishes to leave Carrow Road and is amenable to going back to Parkhead. Nevertheless, Celtic has not yet made a follow-up offer after the English side rejected a £4 million offer.

Though they are reportedly interested in Idah, the Scottish powerhouses might sign someone even better.

As a substitute for the Irishman, the Hoops are reportedly considering a possible move for Hearts center-forward Lawrence Shankland, according to HITC.

Idah’s value in Norwich is reportedly around £8 million, which is double what Celtic offered for him earlier in the summer. As a result, the club is reportedly considering other options in the striker market.

As they anxiously wait to see if they can work out a deal for the 6′ 3″ star, who spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Parkhead, it says that the Bhoys are looking into other number nines.

The Premiership powerhouses are reportedly increasing their interest in Shankland, who took home the division’s Player of the Year title the previous season, according to HITC.

The Scotland international’s closest rivals, Rangers, are reportedly considering a bid for Celtic, and the Daily Record has learned that they have the financial means to put the Jam Tarts to the test.

With one year remaining on his contract, the report stated that the Gers are hoping a £3 million offer will be sufficient to entice them into selling the forward.

A better addition than Idah, who would have cost more than twice as much at £8 million this summer, is Shankland, whom Celtic must now spend £3 million to acquire.
