The One New Zealand Warriors have become the first club in NRL history to complete a grand slam of sold-out home games in a season.
The Warriors have now successfully sold out all 10 of their games at Go Media Stadium this year, along with their home game against Canberra in Christchurch, with just a few tickets left for the final two games against Parramatta and Canterbury Bankstown.
It’s believed to be a first for a New Zealand sports franchise in addition to a first for an NRL club.
Speaking about the incredible accomplishment, One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George remarked, “We’re very proud of it.”
This is mostly a celebration of our members and supporters who have supported the team and the club throughout. The best supporters there are, they truly are the heroes in this situation.
The game against the Eels on Friday night officially sold out this morning, and the last few tickets for the Canterbury Bankstown fixture were purchased yesterday, nearly four weeks ahead of game day on August 23.
“It’s an incredible endeavour to sell out every game this season,” Tohu Harris, the captain of the New Zealand Warriors, remarked.
“As players we can’t say enough about what our fans mean to us when we run out to a packed house at home game after game. “We’re so grateful to them and how loyal they are. The atmosphere they create is the best in the NRL. Nothing beats playing at Go Media Stadium.” With all tickets now gone for the matches against the Eels and Bulldogs, the One New Zealand Warriors have sold out a total of 14 home games this year including their trials in Christchurch and in Auckland. Across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, it means 20 of the Warriors’ 25 NRL home games have been sold out.
