Burna Boy, the winner of a Grammy Award, is the first African artist to reach two billion streams in the UK.
During his packed performance at Koko Camden in London on Monday night, the “Twice as Tall” crooner received a Brit Plaque as recognition for the achievement.
This achievement was achieved just a few weeks after he was given a Brit 1 billion streams plaque during his June sold-out London Stadium show.
When Burna Boy accepted the Brit 2 billion streams plaque in a widely shared video, he declared, “I fought for it.”
As one of the hosts hinted, “You already have it. There’s no need for conflict.
Burna Boy shot back, saying, “No.” We must defend our rights, you know.
The renowned “African Giant” has maintained his media attention thanks to his electrifying performances throughout Europe and other regions of the world.
He sold out major concerts in the United Kingdom during the first half of the year, solidifying his reputation as a “Afrobeat Ambassador” and increasing his appeal on a global scale.
