Following an hours-long standoff with police inside a residence, a group of persons who police say robbed a Dorchester barbershop at gunpoint yesterday afternoon were taken into custody.
Deputy Superintendent Joseph Gillespie informed reporters outside the Dorchester house where the arrests were made that just after 4 p.m. yesterday, Boston police learned of an armed robbery underway at 479 Blue Hill Ave., the address for Edward’s Barbershop. People inside the barbershop informed the police that they had been robbed at gunpoint by people wearing masks when the police arrived at the scene.
motor vehicle involved in the robbery was found outisde a home on Adams Street in Dorchester, and investigators determined the robbery suspsects had fled inside, according to Gillespie. A Boston police SWAT Team and negotiators went to the scene.
